Present for Confirmation-Group?

(5 posts)
  1. Hi!

My wife and I are hosting a confirmation-group for 7 boys in our parish. We want to give each of them a little present (e.g. a good catholic book) for their confirmation day. Does anyone have any suggestions what would be a nice idea?

    Thanks!

  2. What's the average age of these boys?

I'm trying to think what would be most interesting to them.

  3. They are between 12 and 14.

  4. So are the boys already confirmed? (If so, what did you get them?)

I let this totally slip my mind as I was reading a book I wanted to try and make sure to finish before knowing if it was good for kids their age (Jesus of Nazareth by Cardinal Ratzinger, now our Pope).

If it's not too late or for anyone else with a similar question:
I'd recommend "Catechism of the Catholic Church" (or the Compendium for an easier understanding), and "The essential Catholic survival guide" (from the guys at Catholic Answers with a ton of info on all sorts of objections like "call no man father", the truth about Galileo, and a bunch more.)

There's a lot that us Catholics don't know that we should and these two (especially the Catechism) are essential in knowing what we really believe so as to better defend it should the need arise.
